3D Printed Model Railway Kits
ABOUT US

First conceived in 2016 as 'Southern Railway Models', South Coast Railway Models aims to fill a gap in the model railway market that is forming between those who rely on Ready-to-Run products alone and those who prefer to build conventional white metal or brass kits. Our aim is to bridge this gap and encourage some of those who use only Ready-to-Run products to start considering kits in more beginner-friendly materials; in this instance, most of our kits are constructed from a variety of 3D printed materials which are easily assembled with minimal parts, using superglue or another suitable adhesive of the modellers choice, and can be detailed to as high a level as the modeller wishes.

In addition, there are large gaps in the availability of pre-grouping rolling stock, locomotives and, looking to future production, hardware -buildings, signals and station fixtures, for example in kit form- South Coast Railway Models is aiming to fill these gaps, and hopefully encourage the modelling and exploration of this rich and colourful British railway period.

What do we mean by 'pre-grouping'? By its very definition, pre-grouping refers to the period in railway history prior to the Grouping of the railways in 1923 by the Government into four large operating companies; the London North Eastern Railway (LNER), London, Midland and Scottish (LMS), Southern Railway (SR) and Great Western Railway (GWR).

South Coast Railway Models is primarily focused on the neglected locomotive classes of the Southern Railway and its constituents, the London & South Western Railway (L&SWR), London Brighton & South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) and the South Eastern & Chatham Railway managing committee (SE&CR), however, we are intent on expanding our kits into other pre-grouping prototypes, some dating as far back as the 1840s.
